The Arrma Senton is a 1/10 Scale short course truck that is great for off-road driving, racing, and hitting big jumps. Many RC drivers will look for the best ARRMA Senton shock upgrade to help boost the truck’s performance when hitting jumps are the race track or driving fast over rough terrain.
The stock shocks on the Senton are not adjustable and are not as strong as some of the aftermarket options.
While they may be good enough for speed runs and driving in the grass, you must upgrade the shocks if you want to hit big jumps.
In this post, I will share the best ARRMA Senton shock upgrade based on my testing and experience with aftermarket RC shocks.
Which Shocks Come On The ARRMA Senton?
The Senton shocks are made from plastic and metal and are oil filled. They ARE NOT considered adjustable shocks. They are basic shock absorbers and will get the job done if you are driving on smooth dirt, grass, or pavement.
If you want to adjust the spring preload, you must install spring clips at the top of the shock. In the images below, you can see the clips that will install into of the spring. These clips push the spring down to increase the tension. So, if you want to adjust the truck’s ride height, you have to remove the clip and install a new one. That is time-consuming and no fun.
I prefer adjustable shocks that have threaded adjustments. all you have to do is turn the spring collar to tighten or loosen up the spring. You do not have to take your truck apart to make these adjustments. You can adjust the shock while you are out driving!
What Are The ARRMA Senton Shock Part Numbers?
If you only want to replace the stock shocks on your Senton, you can pick up both the front and rear shocks on Amazon.
The part numbers for the stock shocks on the Senton are:

The best ARRMA Senton shock upgrade are the Proline PowerStroke shocks made specifically for the Senton 3S and MEGA trucks. I personally own several Proline shocks for my Traxxas trucks, and they are absolute beasts! From my experience, the Proline shocks can handle huge jumps, and I have yet to break them.
Proline Power Stroke Shocks For The Arrma Senton
Pro-Line’s PowerStroke Shocks are made specifically for the ARRMA Senton. They give your truck a huge performance boost and are more durable than the Senton’s stock shocks.
The Proline Power Stroke shocks come with the following:
- 14mm big bore aluminum shock bodies
- Adjustable Spring collar
- Aluminum shock caps
- Metal 3.5mm shock shafts
- Dual rate springs for extensive spring rate customization
The Proline shocks also feature dual-rate springs, and Proline says this offers you “infinite spring pre-load adjustment.” The dual-rate setup has a shorter spring at the top of the shock and a longer spring at the bottom. You can install any combination of the short and long springs to fine-tune your suspension.
You can also purchase an optional spring kit that has springs with different spring rates.
How To Adjust The ARRMA Senton Shocks?
Since the stock ARRMA Shocks are not adjustable, we highly recommend upgrading to the Proline Power Stroke Shocks.
The power stroke shocks ARE adjustable. You can fine-tune the shocks by turning the spring collar to loosen or tighten the springs by any increment you want.
Do you want the rear of the truck to sit up a little bit higher? No problem, tighten down the rear shocks one full turn. Was that a bit too much? Loosen them up by a quarter turn. It’s really that fast and easy.
How To Install Power Stroke Shocks On The ARRMA Senton
The PowerStroke Shocks come pre-assembled, but you do need to fill them with shock oil and remove and install them on your truck.
To install the shocks:
- Remove the old shocks and save the screws and hardware
- Add shock oil to the new Proline shocks
- Let the shocks sit for a while to get all the air bubbles out
- screw on the shock cap
- install the new shocks on your Senton
What Shock Oil Do I Need For The ARRMA Senton?
Shock oils come in different “weights.” The weight is how thick the oil is. A thicker oil will make your suspension tighter, while a thinner oil will make the shocks looser.
You can experiment with different oil weights until you like how your truck rides. From my own testing, I like to run a 50-weight in the rear and a 40-weight in the front.
The best bang for your buck is these shock oil kits from Losi. It has weights ranging from 20 to 100. You can tune your suspension exactly how you want with the Proline Shocks an a specific shock oil weight. So if you like to tinker with your truck, upgrade your shocks!
Traxxas also makes a shock oil kit that is more affordable. However, the Traxxas kit does not come with 90 and 100 weight oil. So if you want those weights, make sure to check out the Losi kit.
